Design
The LG G4 is a well crafted smartphone. It may not be the prettiest out there but it trades looks for functionality. The G4 has a removable back cover which can either be genuine leather, ceramic or fake metal. The leather is of premium quality and has a nice soft touch. The leather always stays at a moderate temperature. The ceramic back cover feels like plastic. It does not have much grip. The ceramic version has a diamond pattern and is quite nice. The metallic back cover is our least favourite as it is just plastic. On the back of the phone under the amazing camera LG has placed a power button and volume keys. The position of these is excellent and they are nice and clicky. Around the plastic sides of the G4 there is no buttons which make the design very simple. The G4 also has a slight curve through its body but its barely noticeable. Altogether the G4 is a well designed smartphone that stands out from the crowd.
Display
The G4 has a 5.5" IPS display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. This means it has a super high pixel density of 538 ppi. The display uses Gorilla Glass 4 technology meaning the glass should be stronger than average. The display is bright, vivid and displays true colours. This display is perfect for viewing all sorts of media.
Performance
The LG G4 comes with the Snapdragon 808 CPU and the Adreno 418 GPU. This means that the G4 is very fast and power efficient. The G4 comes with 3GB of RAM making it great at multitasking. Although it might not have the latest CPU from Qualcomm it is still blazing fast. Playing games, recording 4k video and multitasking will all happen flawlessly on this device
Camera
The G4 comes with the best camera on any smartphone at the moment. It comes with a 16MP optically stabilized main shooter. It has an aperture of 1.8 and records in 4k. It also comes with a colour sensor and a laser auto focus system. All this technology bundled together allows for a brilliant camera experience. Photos come out crisp clear and have vivid colours. This camera is great in low light due to its low aperture. Videos also turn out great due to its OIS technology meaning your videos will less shaky. Finally the G4 has an awesome camera app that allows you to take full control of the camera. Altogether the camera is beyond good and deserves every bit of praise it receives.
Software
The LG G4 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop with LG's own skin applied over stock Android. LG's skin wouldn't win any prizes for looks but it sure would for features. The UI is highly customisable and is power efficient but slows down the phone at times. Some features can be very useful like double tap to wake the display. You can even change the position of the on screen buttons. Altogether the UI isn't our favourite and bogs down the phone.
Conclusion
